چکیده

Objective: Maternal diabetes mellitus has a significant impact on the neonatal outcome. Birth weight is related to degree of glycemic control. Poor control in mother causes somatic overgrowth and results macrosomia. obesity an independent risk factor for The study objective was evaluate correlation between glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level diabetic mothers macrosomia their neonates. Methods: A cross-sectional observational done body mass index, gain, duration type treatment were recorded. HbA1c levels measured within one hour delivery birth order, mode delivery, gestational age discrete variables analyzed by chi-square test continuous t-test. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis used determine optimum cut-off predicting with HbA1c. p-value <0.05 considered significant. Results: total 228 neonates studied 18 macrosomic. Diabetes pregestational 56.6% 43.4% mothers. There difference BMI, macrosomic non-macrosomic no mean values maternal age, two groups. Conclusion: This suggests that women elevated HbA1c>5.6% after likely have

Infants of diabetic mothers.

Advances in the management of the mother with diabetes have reduced the rate of morbidity and mortality for her infant. Aggressive control of maternal glycemic status is warranted, because most morbidities are epidemiologically and pathophysiologically closely linked to fetal hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinemia. The burgeoning public health problem of overweight and obesity in children will like...
